Hello, I’m Louise!

A little bit about me: I am a holistic nutrition consultant.

I haven’t always worked in the field of nutrition, in fact I arrived at this career path after years of being a stay at home mom. It wasn’t until I was in my late forties that I became a deeply committed nutrition nerd who is passionate about the power of food to improve our health.

My own journey towards health began at age 46, when I found myself unhappy, exhausted, hormonally imbalanced and craving coffee and sugar just to get myself through each day. I felt so much older than my years! I had a busy house with three growing teens and a dog. I was tired of being told that what I was feeling was normal: that energy slumps, hot flashes, sugar driven spikes / crashes during the day and waning libido came with my my age. I wasn’t buying it.

So I enrolled in nutrition school and instantly found my passion for food. I’ve always been a food lover, but I had spent a lifetime restricting and denying myself and focussing on calories as the holy grail of health. Nutrition school taught me that instead of food being a shameful indulgence, it could actually be the path to healing. I learned that the food we eat daily can actually boost energy, increase happiness, improve sleep, support our bodies to resolve a myriad of health issues and help us to tip toe through menopause feeling balanced and symptom free. I also learned that the relationship we have with ourselves is a relationship that will last a lifetime and the food that we put into our mouths three times daily is both an intimate and loving act.

I was astounded at the sheer power of food to help fuel my body during my middle years. I learned that there was an abundance of delicious, easy to prepare real food out there that my body AND mind loved. I discovered so much vitality and alleviation through proper nutrition that I wanted to help others – specifically women who had been facing the same problems I had. I want to help educate women about nutrition so they can make empowered and intelligent decisions for their health and subsequently the health of their families as they move through life.
